The panel Intracity or the sustainability of interstices will approach, within the framework of Spain NOW!, London audiences to the latest work of multidisciplinary groups of artists, architects, designers, anthropologists, sociologists and students, working with the participation of and supported by citizens, within the Spanish contemporary scene.
This panel is proposed as a snapshot of a variety of actions and research on urban transformation from the viewpoint of different practices put in place in several cities in Spain. A plurality of cultural perspectives will be proposed through cross-sectoral analysis and interactions. Furthermore, in order to explore the possibilities of certain interstitial spaces of cities, different proposals emerge within the concept of sustainability, which recreate and embody new possibilities for social and cultural life, as well as an improvement of local ecology achieved via citizen participation.
Panelists included:
Nerea Calvillo
Ariadna Cantis
Alexander García Düttmann
Curated by Carmen Molina-Vázquez and Inés García Clariana with the collaboration of UEM, Universidad Europea de Madrid
Podcast from our panel, streamed live from the Roca Gallery on November 27th 2012
