BLOG OF A POP-UP SPACE / DAY SEVEN

First week at the pop-up space in Soho. A round table discussion and an opening party later, we are getting ready for the home stretch of this year’s Spain NOW! From tomorrow, don’t miss the screenings of some great video art pieces by SUSO33, Pablo Padilla, and Alejandro Silván Castiella with Music Dreams curated by Carlota Santabárbara.

In addition, you will still be able to find the screening of ‘CUT HERE’ a selection of independent music videos curated by Nacho R. Piedra and Fashion Fast Forward, a video selection by Noelia Terrón-Laya of some of the most exciting fashion labels active in Spain like El Colmillo de Morsa, La Casita de Wendy, American Perez and Martin Lamothe.

On Tuesday 22nd the pop up space will play host to Poetry Illustrated, the exhibiton product of the collaboration between illustrators Pablo Gallo, Fidel Martínez and Sonia Pulido and poets Pilar Adón, Julián Cañizares Mata y Ana Gorría. Curated by Silvia Terrón the pieces produced for the show are just an outstanding example of bringing images and words together. DO NOT MISS! Our godfather Felipe Benítez Reyes would be proud 😉

Then is off to our closing event on Friday 25th November. Two performances by Javier Marquerie Thomas and Miguel Guzmán and a DJ ‘face-off’ between Estela Aparisi and Nacho Castañón and his One Hand Man’s Band will fill the space to say good bye to Spain NOW! 2011 and a big hello to Spain NOW! 2012.

The space will remain open until Sunday 27th November for a last chance to immerse yourselves in the ‘Space Bending’ show.

Keep an eye out for pics and vids of the past and coming week of goings-on at the pop-up space….
